308 can easily be pushed past 1000 yards. I have shot plenty of target at 1760 yards. Barrel length is just as important as twist rate. I primarily shoot a 24inch barrel 1:11 twist. I'm able to shoot the 208 ELD Match at 2683fps average using reloader 17. The high BC 0.690 coupled with the weight allows me to have less drop and more energy at longer distances. In fact in they stay over 1100fps at 1760 yards.

The thread is five years old. The rifle might well be finished, by now.

It's okay, though. Necrothreadia is not at all unknown. Probably happened a thousand times before now.
