MK25 P226 and P226 .22LR - Caliber exchange question

I own an MK25 and am very happy with it. Bought a P226 .22LR with the intent of doing a caliber exchange. Putting the two lowers side by side, both the MK25 and .22LR look the same to me. I was able to interchange the slide and magazine combinations on both of the guns. Am I missing something here? On the .40cal caliber exchange kit I purchased it specifically called out converting the P226 .22LR to various other sizes. Will the caliber exchange kit function on ALL P226 frames??

Thank you, in advance, for any insights offered.
