Try the 130 and the 140 grn Accubond from Nosler, you'll love the accuracy and the performance dude!

I have good luck with Sierra Gamekings (140gr) and Reloader-22 and WLRM primers. Sierra manual has R-22 listed.

You may also want to take a look at Berger Hunting VLD's in 130 gr. thru 150 gr. Really impressed with the accuracy and effectiveness of their bullets.

If it's for a bull tag here in Co I'd use a 150gr partition and I've had good luck with H-4350 and R-17 in the 270WSM.

Elk are big, tough creatures so try and stick with premium bullets. Partitions and Barnes are my favorites and to date have never failed me. Powder wise I'd look real close at Reloader 17 and Winchester Supreme 780, both were made for the short mags.
