AK Muzzle Pin Stuck!

Hey guys.

I've got a new to me AK with the muzzle pin stuck.

I tried knocking out the pin that holds it in place, used lots of lube and a wire to poke it out, but it's really in there.

Advise on getting it out would be appreciated. I'd hate to buy an all new front sight block but I guess that's a plan of last resort.

Are you talking about the detent that holds the slant brake on? It probably is stuck with paint or crud in the channel. Spray some Kroil into it and gently tap it until it moves freely.

You might try a little heat as well. Do not take the FSB off just for a stuck pin.

Yes, that's the pin.

It was acting like a little bastard. No amount of PB Blaster got it loose. I tried a lighter then a torch. I tried banging it around and picking at it with some wire.

Eventually I had to start drilling it out. That finally worked.

Turns out it was slightly bent, which made it bind. I got the rifle that way. There's no telling what the previous owner did to it.
