Hornady reloading book Vs. IMR,Hodgdon,Win Reloading data
I just bought a Hornady reload╛á book and all the data seems way lower than the IMR, Winchester, Hodgdon reloading data center online. For instance the Hornady book says,Max loads of 44mag using 240 grn bullets with Li'l Gun powder is 22.2 grs of powder is going 1,╒Ä█ the IMR σ├ grs of █╒‼τFPS. My only guess is Hornady is just playing it safe.

Welcome to the forum.
When you compose a post a composition window comes up. You can paste into it from a word processor, but lots of formatting characters the forum software doesn't recognize will come with it. To fix this, after pasting your post, hit the key combination Ctrl+A, to Select All. The press the little icon button at the top lefte of the composition window toolbar; the one with the little upper case "A" repeated and with a red line through it. That button removes the unrecognized formatting characters. The push the Submit Reply button and all should be well. Load manuals often do not agree because their data is developed in different guns. Note that in straight wall pistol cases like the .44 Rem Mag, you don't have to push a bullet in very far to significantly increase chamber pressure if the same charge of powder subsequently fires. You'll also note the Hornady manual often lists shorter COL's than other sources. That extra seating depth, intended to line their crimp cannelures up with the case mouth, can force a load reduction. See if they don't have a shorter COL that the other manuals for the bullet you chose?

If you are new to reloading play it safe, start low and build about .2 grains at a time until your chronograph shows you've reached the listed velocity. None of the reloading book writers used your gun for the tests.
