Handgun bayonet

CZ has these cool bayonets for the light rail on your handgun for $100 on their site. I thought they were pretty cool.

I'm a bit confused. Why would you ever need one?

They were also made for WWI large frame Webley's. If you need a gun, you could probably use a knife, I suppose the reasoning is, same for rifles.

Having spent much time during WWII in bayonet training, I can assure all, proper and affective use of a bayonet on a rifle is nowhere as simple as it might look to any with no experience using it. We had M1 Garands and, while I never tried using a bayonet on an M16, I have considerable reservations that it would be as effective as the bayonet on the larger rifle - much less on a handgun.

Now, a bayonet in the hand used as a personal weapon is a different matter and were used with success in hand to hand combat but, on a handgun, it is my impression it would reduce the usefullness of both the handgun and the bayonet.

Just MHO!

I don't want to ruffle any feathers but a bayonet ( had to stop until I quit laughing) on a handgun is as useless as tits on a boar hog ( as my pappy used to say).

The bayonet is particularly effective when worn IWB at about 12:00 to 1:00

If I liked the pistol more I would buy it just for the bayonet.

No, it's not real practical. Was supposed to have been made for entry teams to reduce people grabbing their weapons.

I like it just because I know the liberals will hate it

Wish someone would make one that fits all standard rails, just for giggles.

Hehe, I'm actually considering getting one in the 91180 package (SP01/bayo). Why? Why not. The standoff block will actually work on other rails (not entirely sure if it is Weaver or 1913 or whatever, though). first time I saw one first hand at a agun show was attached to a newer Taurus PT92 with frame rail.

I apologize, I shouldn't make fun of anyone, who knows they might wind up on my jury. I guess it would nice hanging on the wall and would make a dandy conversation piece. A bayonet on a handgun, Heck they had the Elgin boarding pistol with a big knife attached. Just don't go down to the local shooting range with it attached, especially if you're wearing Cammie's.
