I do love ruger revolvers

I love the Ruger Revolvers but only in 44 Mag . It must be the Super Blackhawk three screw or new model . Over the years I have bought a lot of Rugers but this week is special .

I found a unfired Ruger Super Blackhawk with the MAG-NA-PORT Predator Package . This Revolver was built in 1989 4,5/8 barrel and it is nice . Four or five years ago I bought a Ruger Super Blackhawk Tomahawk built in 1978 both are as new both 4.5/8 barrels and both built by MAG-NA-PORT .

happy happy happy

Congratulations! New Gun Day (NGD) is something I think we can all appreciate.

BTW....pictures?

(Says Dale who has to go back to the instruction page and start the whole learning process over from scratch every blessed time he wants to post a picture.)

Well congrats on the new addition, I'm sure it will be a fine shooter and would like to see a few pictures of it. Mag-na-port builds some nice revolvers and I love my S&W 25 that someone had them build, shoots great and has a smooth action.

While I do enjoy the 44mag Blackhawks (I have a 1958 3 screw 44mag that some one had a 4 5/8 mag-na-ported barrel installed) I prefer a 45Colt Blackhawks even more.

No need to limit yourself to 44mag only, to many good calibers made on the Blackhawk platform to only choose one. I currently have 45's, a 44, a 30 carbine, and two 357's.

VERY nice guns Keybear, thanks for posting the pictures.

I don't have any ported or compensated guns but I remember when Mag-na-port hit the scene and got pretty good reviews from the gun press. They always said the Mag-na-port folk showed a lot of attention to detail in their work as well as having a neat process for creating the ports.

Thanks also to Bob Wright. Both your pictures and guns are very impressive.

The Predator comes ported and I wish it was not . The Tomahawk is one of 90 made for the RCA .

I used to have several Ruger revolvers .. DA Six series a couple of each , Several GP100's,
a few Redhawks & SP101's ... And in SA 41mag, 44mag , 44spl, 357mag , 30cal carbine , Single six's
But I lost my job abot 20yrs ago , wife got sick , and later my health went south ...
I had to let go of most of my guns including my Rugers , Milsurps , European hunting rifles , & Leverguns ..
I never replaced most of them , even though I maybe able .. I just went in a different direction with handguns ...
I kept a Security Six it is a shooter .. But Im planning on another Super Blackhawk in 44 Magnum

Just picked up this little beauty. Brand new, just finished cleaning the grease out of it. I got two boxes of 240g Magnums but will shoot 44 Specials at the range Wednesday.

I bought my first revolver , a Ruger , in 1971. This movie had recently come out and there were no 44 magnums in the shop. The owner said he could sell every 44 magnum he could get his hands on , the S&W's went for triple the msrp. The movie was Dirty Harry.
The only thing he had was a Ruger Blackhawk 357 magnum, the owner bought it 3 weeks ago brand new , then had seen Dirty Harry and brought it back to trade in on a new 44 magnum Super Blackhawk.
Now the 357 was tagged as used so I pulled out the $75.00 cash I had in my jeans and made an offer...he took it and I bought my first Ruger, while not a 44 magnum , I've been enjoying it all these years , reloading , casting bullets and shooting. Your first is always special !
