Edit Capability
Can't find the edit button for my post in the Sale/Trade section. Post is now 8 days old, so thought I'd have the option to both edit and bump it to the top 7 days later. Please advise.
Thanks. Handgunner00 |

Just reply to your own post. You don't need an edit button to do that.

Yep, that's the way to do it. If you need to change your original post, add a follow-up post to the thread.

Why not leave the edit button on for the life of the thread?

We aren't going to allow posts to be edited months or even years later. That could lead to a complete change in the meaning and the flow of a thread. We feel that the four days a post is allowed to be edited is more than enough time for the poster to get it right. If a critical piece of info in a post needs to be changed, the poster is welcome to PM any one of the Staff and we will most always change it for them.
The only forums where it would be desirable to have a longer edit period is the Gun Show forums as the original poster noted. However, the software doesn't allow for changing the edit time on a forum basis. It is one period of time across the board. |
