If it were mine I would probably shoot it, but I would shoot it with lead bullets and low pressure loads.

When I got the rifle last week it had a swirl black/silver and gold appearance. I don't know what was on it but the black would have been the blueing and the silver the under plating. The gold color looked sapish like a varnish. But it all came off when I hand polished it.

Funny you should say that because I do have lead cast and empty casings.
