LCP trigger pull

I've had an LCP for a couple of years and the trigger pull is fairly long, but smooth. I just bought my wife a new one today and the trigger pull seems to be about half of my older gun and smooth as well. Has Ruger done something to the newer guns or is it just the luck of the draw? Is there that much difference between guns?

There has been a silent change, nothing was announced, but the Ruger forums have had comments similar to yours about the trigger length, and pull weight. Supposedly, the sights have changed also.
