OK, got that stupidity out of the way, now my question hopefully won't seem so stupid. How do you find the date a particular Uberti pistol (in this case cap and ball) was made? Thanks to all |

There should be two letters in a square among the proof marks.

Or, if it is an older model they may be Roman numerals like XIV or XVII.
