help with a Rem700 22-250 ser 156806

This is a BDL with Sights, 22-250 steel butt plate. has checkering.
non jewled bolt. any info would be appreciated. i think it has a 24 or 22 inch barrel on it.

Year of manufacture is on the barrel in code. Here's how to tell what year it was made:

I don't remember the BDL having a non-jeweled bolt. Even the old ADLs had jeweling. It almost sounds like you have a rifle that may have seen some work done to it or possibly a bolt replaced. Hard to tell exactly without pics.
