Visiting Phoenix For Christmas
I will be in Phoenix/ Scottsdale area at Christmas time and was wondering if anyone knows a place I could rent and shoot a Barrett or McMillan 50 BMG , or 416 Barrett at 500 to 1000 yard range.

Dunno. Ben Avery is the only state range I'm aware of near Phoenix. They're online.

I'm not aware of rentals available in those calibers at any of the indoor ranges.
Outdoor ranges are Ben Avery and Rio Salado Sportsman's Club and they do not rent firearms - nor do they generally allow use of their 500+yd ranges to individual shooters. Those are typically reserved for matches or club activities. You may have better luck in Las Vegas, if you're willing to make the drive (5hrs each way)
