Not sure what I have
Kentucky style rifle, has 'Wm. Ihm' scribed on the top of the barrel, has a silver heart embedded under the stock just in front of the trigger gaurd. any information would be greatly appreceated.

IMO, you have a rifle, most likely built in the 1970's, by Bill Ihm of the Fort Atkinson (Nebraska) Muzzleloaders Club. AFAIK, he was a BP gunsmith/builder that also made rifles to be used as prizes for the club's annual shoot(s). . |

The inside of the barrel measures 5/8", it is rifled. would this be a 50 cal ?

Edit AGAIN, jeez I'm batting a thousand today. My math was right after all. You get caliber from dividing the top number by the bottom number. SO, 5 divided by 8 is .625, so .62 Caliber.
