Anyone going shooting for the holidays?

On Monday several friends of mine and their families are going shooting,,,
It will be an informal event with a few grills and lotsa meat,,,
And lots and lots of guns.

I'm going all rimfire myself,,,
I've been saving water bottles and filling them with kitty litter for weeks.

They make great targets by the way,,,
Especially if you wrap them in bright orange duct tape.

Heavy enough that the wind doesn't knock them over,,,
They don't usually explode until they've been hit by many rounds,,,
You can chase them down the range until you can't hit them anymore.

There will be many kids there,,,
lotsa opportunities to share some good times.

Anyone else got any range plans?

Aarond

Good idea.

Friend of mine have been talking about going this weekend.

Can't decide if the range will be packed or empty.

Probably, but I usually go most Saturdays during warmer weather anyway.
Have a blast. I like the idea of kitty litter in milk jugs, paper gets a bit boring.

I seriously thought about going shooting this weekend but thus far have decided against it. I don't like to travel down Route 58 towards Emporia during holiday weekends. Greenville County deputy sheriffs will be all over the place.

Tomorrow, shooting a 900, 45 event of the Bullseye Course followed by a CMP EIC Pistol Match.

Today I'll be working on my 243 1000 yard loads.

I shoot in the desert on BLM land. I specifically avoid holiday weekends. There is always an increased number of partakers and the amount of "frosty beverages" being consumed doesn't provide for a safe enough environment for me.

I'll be tossing a few rounds tomorrow. Might put the 270WSM I got in trade for my shotgun to its first test.

Nothing formal planned, but if it does come up, I have put a few screws in to a dozen golf balls I can hang, as well as the old water bottles and soda cans.

With only one nephew left at home who likes to shoot, Mondays seem to be the day we shoot most now. (One in Army Basic Training and one so wrapped up in his girlfriend he has to ask her which way is up.)

Glad some of you can get out and shoot. Finally got a three day weekend....had plans for me and Sweety to go to the range yesterday. Not only did one car go on the fritz....car number 2 did too. Just bought 400 rounds too. Bummer.

Y'all have a safe weekend.

I'll be working.

Besides, it's one day I think maybe that it's better the guns remain silent.

I am retired, can choose my days and mostly shoot during the week when the range is less crowded. My wife is still working and I keep the weekends for her, since she works all week I let her pick what we do on the weekends. If I choose I can shoot any time Mon thru Fri.
