New Benelli supernova ?

Hello,

I just purchased a new Benelli supernova synthetic black. Barrel was covered in cosmoline. Benelli must do this to prevent rust during storage. After removing the cosmoline I noticed the barrel is more of a dark matte gray color than black. Its not the same color as the stock. Has anybody else noticed this on their Benelli's? Just curious to know if this is normal or I have a defective finish on the barrel. Thanks in advance.

Yeah it's normal. It's a matte blueing, so keep her oiled up.
