Trouble Installing Magpul Forend On Mossberg 590

I turned my Shockwave into a 20" 590 because the Shockwave is one angry little firearm and the 20" conversion is just way more useful for me. I bought a Magpul forend for it and the Hogue extended forend nut since the action tube is 6 3/4". The trouble is that the extended nut or the factory forend nut neither one fit through the Magpul forend. Is this common enough that someone else has run into it? Is a little dremel tool action called for?
