Alliant 300mp loads?

The only load data I can find for this powder lists 1 load, and that's off their website. No maximum, no minimum. The loads appear to be VERY maximum, as the #'s they claim exceed those of H110's max. Does anyone have any loads they've worked with for 357, 44 and 460? I would appreciate your thoughts. I don't like the idea of my first round of "tests" being a full-bore, fire breathing, maximum. But, maybe this is a powder that only works well at the extreme end of the spectrum?

Email Alliant for some data. I bet they can fix you up.

I'd like to try this powder out myself. It looks like it's characteristics are very simular to H110, but I'm just guessing.

I'm looking at the Alliant website and I see three loads listed in .357 magnum, in 125, 158, and 170 grain bullets with the max load listed. I see four loads listed for the .44 magnum. Have you looked at the Alliant website?

I'd start 10% under and work up.

Yes, I looked at their website, that's the ONLY place that has any data. But, per bullet, they only have one load listed.

So far, it weighs exactly the same as H110, smells and looks just like it. H110 relabeled? LOL

Anyhow, I've emailed them. We'll see if they say anything. I know with H110 if you go much below max it starts becoming pretty dirty. I'm just wondering if this stuff is the same.

The loads listed on Alliant's website are maximum loads. Minimum loads start at 10% below max.

From their website:

Quote:
REDUCE RIFLE AND HANDGUN CHARGE WEIGHTS BY 10% TO ESTABLISH A STARTING LOAD.
The exceptions to this are the loads listed as "target" in the 38 Special and 45 ACP data tables.

DO NOT EXCEED THE LOADS DISPLAYED ON THE SITE OR ALLIANT'S RELOADERS GUIDE

It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Alliant manufactured an exact copy of H110/W296 as they have done it with Hodgdon Clays. Alliant's Clay Dot powder is a copy of it.

Also, if 300MP is a copy of H110 it will not take to downloading 10%. You can probably download it 3% and get by with it, but anymore than that performance will suffer dramatically. H110 is a full house max powder or don't use it.
