Coyote I got a few weeks back
Just got these back, finaly, from getting developed. Thought I would take a min. and throw them up. This is the first year I bought liscenses and went hunting completely by the book, getting to the age where It's more important. Well anyways this is the first coyote I've tacken. One shot with a .30-06 did him justice, was in a stand and he turned just as I shot gutting him in the process.
~ happy hunting ~peace

well you can get something like $40 for the pelt... but to be honest he just got burried. Was told by a taxadermist it wasn't realy worth tanning him because the winter coat wasn't full enough yet. But if you get one now it should be worth it..... , The way I look at it, I was the only one in those woods for a mile in any direction, he must have been after me, I was just holding my grounds

Good ol yotes. We have so many that in one day of deer hunting i saw about nine of em or more and thats just the ones dumb enough to be seen out and about.
Usually i can take one down with the ol .270 within about 10-15 minutes of my first call. I think Ruger needs to make the frontier rifle in a lefty version so i can have one in .243 which would really spin my tires for coyotes.

Check out this one
I shot this song dog,on Nov 23 06.
I'm planning to tan the hide myself, tanning is not that hard. I've been tanning hides for over 10 years now. If you want to know how, just call Van Dyke's Taxidermy at 1-800-843-3320 . Tell them you want to tan a coyote and they should fix you up,for under $40.00 Hope the Picture shows up of my coyote, shot with a 7Mag.160 gr.Nosler |

I can hear them after dusk or before dawn many days at our cabin in northern PA, but I have yet to see one in the woods. Very shy. Haven't tried calling them in yet, but I'd like to try it before I'm too old to stand the cold of a winter night in the trees.
