Weird gun from "Red Heat"

What kind of gun does Arnold have here? Something odd about it...

The gun is a reworked Desert Eagle .357, modified to make it look more like a larger Walther P.38.

It is described as shooting a (fictional) Podbyrin 9.2mm cartridge.

It's what you get when the director asked the armorer to make a "P38 on steroids"

Nah, that's the Eighty-Eight Magnum that does that! That is one of my favorite lines from the movie Johnny Dangerously. "My mother hung me from a hook on the back of a door once. Once!"

I didn't know that. I wish I could get my hands on my friends' .357 Mag Desert Eagle to convert it.

Any self respecting P-38 would take offense to that gun.

Actually I think any self respecting P.38 would go into heat seeing that gun.

What you see in movies is not real. What you hear in movies is not real.
Write that out 100 times.

True, but what you see in the moves sometimes BECOMES real, years later.

When the Terminator was made, there was no laser sight small enough to FIT on a handgun. Today, there are lasers small enough to fit INSIDE a handgun!
