215 grain RN bullets were the service load for many years in .303 British; 1:10" twist, and the same twist persisted to the end with 174 grain Spitzer service ammo. 1:11" should easily handle 180 grain bullets. Not sure what twist the U.S. Krag used, but that .30-40 slug was 220 grain.
