I usually use 4064 and push it around 2750-2800fps for using on deer. They don't need to be screamers to be effective.

I use H4831 and H4831sc behind 130 gr Ballistic Tips. I have used IRM4064 in other 270's and had great results from that. With the H4831, my load for the past 30 years has been 59 grains, which is ABOVE MAX in some books, so work up from lower.

Heck the .270 likes all kinds of powders, but some bullets don't. I use h4350, h4831sc, IMR4350, rl17,rl19...oh and n160 but haven't reigned that one in yet...

Our old standby load was a 130 gr Hor Cor in front of 59 gr H4831. Myself and 4 buddies used that load and never was disappointed.

For Hornady Interlock 130's:

Reduced load for the kids: 45gr of IMR4064 and a WLR primer.

For regular strength loads 54gr of H414 and CCI 250 primer (for more consistant cold weather performance).

I use 150gr bullets these days for deer.

50 gr IMR4895 3.34", 130 gr Nosler Ballistic tip, moly
This is wimpy, but with an ultralight rifle, it has the accuracy.
I killed one mule deer at 510 yards, but most were at 400 yards.
I stalk to 400 yards, and shoot from a bipod, and aim for the lungs.

IMR 4064 with 130 gr SGK's shoot bug holes for me at 100 yards in my Weatherby. The brass is new RP and Federal 210 primers. I can keep this load under an inch at 200 yards. I have taken two deer with this combo. A brisket shot on a button buck that penetrated the better part of 18 inches at about 30 yards. DRT. The second was a broadside heart shot on and 8 point at 219 yards (My son laser ranged him). Pass through and the buck went about 75 yards. Berger VLD 130's shoot well too but the Sierra GK's shoot like a laser for me.

My best shooting load is 54 grains IMR 4350, cci primer, and 130g hornady interlock.
I had a thread a little while ago about this load on deer. It's one of the most devastating rounds I've ever seen on whitetail. Highly recommend a different bullet after great words of advice from the guys on here.

When I had my 270 I used this powder and charge but with a 130gr Sierra Pro Hunter. Hit a very large doe just above the shoulder. It did a sideways 360* flip in the air and was dead when it landed. Damnedest thing I ever saw. The heart and lungs were a mess.
