Bay Area Firearms Training Group

Has anybody attended classes here? What was your opinion of the facilities and instruction? They don't seem to be the cheapest but they do seem flexible in their class times and training. Any input on this group would be helpful.

I don't know the school. Looking at the web site: I'd be cautious around any group whose attention to detail is so bad in marketing themselves, reasoning that it probably extends to other areas (like range safety or the storage of credit card numbers.)

Consider the following alleged sentence, quoted directly from their web site:
Meth Anfetamine is a nationwide epidemic and people are more than viloent that use this drug, 98% addiction rate from trying it one time, home invasions are going through the roof, if the economy crashes, or we have a disaster things will spin out of control within 24 hours protect yourself , and your family Private instruction at only a few dollars more than group rates, call today for more info.

I'm also in the Bar Area. For serious, tactical training, I'd suggest Advanced Weapons and Tactics (as noted by Jasper) or the classes being offered by Louis Awerbuck at Reed's Indoor Range (http://www.reedsindoorrange.com, and see http://ezine.m1911.org/awerback.htm ).

For a solid, basic handgun class, I'd recommend BayProfs (http://www.bayprofs.org ).

MothersLilHelper - I had noticed what you quoted and the general poor writing on their site. I try not to be critical of things that don't necessarily reflect the actual training but it still sticks out to me. That is one of the reasons I thought I'd try to get some additional feedback.

Got my handgun safety cert at Bay Area Firearms and took their basic pistol course. The guy who taught my class, Scott, has been doing this stuff for decades and knows what he's talking about. Good info, very safe, very personal. Going back for basic shotgun next weekend. I originally got referred to them by a friend and it turned out to be a great investment. Haven't seen the website until now. Wouldn't be too worried about it.
