For me, a 6" revolver or a 1911A1, balances perfectly one handed.

The only times I've shot one handed by necessity were after I had been in a fight and had a hurting right hand a few times when I was going bouncing/security. I stunk, to put it mildly, shooting left handed. But goofing around, at one time, I could actually shoot pretty decently right handed, even pretty potent .357 loads. If I could get back to the level I shot one handed a few times right handed back in 1980-82 with both hands now, I would be thrilled beyond belief. Growing old is, well, getting old.
