I live near Thegunworks. Joe has access to tons of bp. No shortages here.

After cleaning, don't put it away. Check it again in a couple of days to be sure you got all of the Pyrodex. It will be easy to tell. Rusty brown gunk.

Thank you to all for the help and information. Luckily, I was able to scrounge up some 3F of the real stuff . . enough to get me through the summer and not feel pressure in regards to "running out". Have enough caps as well so should be all set. Next winter when I head for AZ I'll be taking supplies with me - last winter everywhere I looked for BP supplies they were as scarce as hen's teeth the same as "modern" ammo.
I greatly appreciate all of the information and the "education" on Pyrodex. I learned a lot and I'm sure others did as well - thank you to you all!
