Ouch my leg

It was O dark : thirty and I was sitting against a tree waiting for day brake. I heard a deer come down a hill a ways off and kept geting closer and closer. I heard some grunting so I assume it was a buck. It was pitch dark and I was a little nervous. The deer got so close I thought he was gona step on me. He suddenly took off like a shot blowing all the way. I never saw another one. I guess he smelt me? Did his blowing keep othe deer from comeing around?

A deer snort is pretty much a warning to other deer that something is fishy. And's it's crazy how loud it sounds in the quiet woods. I wonder who was more startled, you or him. I've been there. I jumped one on the way into my stand bowhunting a few weeks ago.
