Browning BAR 30-06 disassembly issue
Just inherited a Browning bar Belgium made 30-06. I wanted to give it a good cleaning and understand more about the rifle. I watched a couple videos on the disassembly and started in on it. Durrying the take down, the bolt action slid back and locked in place. I've got the guide and alinement rods out but I can't get the bolt or trigger group out. Feels like there's a catch. Looking back at the videos, the bolt action is closed to remove the trigger group out. I've tried putting it back together, but the bolt stays locked back. Any ideas?

Did you release the floorplate so the magazine is no longer in the action?

I used to own one, but I just don't remember how to do what you want.

The bolt should go forward once you press the bolt release button. Next, swing open the magazine. Last, you drive out the two pins for the trigger guard, and lift it out the bottom.

Got it!
I found where someone else had the same issue. Took a cleaning rod thru the guide hole and pushed the hammer back. Works wonderfull. Thanks for the help!
