Red dot on AR PCC

I put a Vortex Venom red dot on my 9mm AR PCC. I have a 3/4 inch riser that my red dot in mounted on. My elevation is maxed. Has anyone ran into this problem?I’m still 3-4 inches low at 30 yards. My riser doesn’t have any MOA built in. I might buy a rail with some MOA built in to raise the point of impact but I’m starting to wonder if something is wrong with my red dot. I started out about 15 inches low but after maxing the elevation I could only get it to 3-4 inches low.

A thin piece of metal under the front of the riser will put some upward tilt to it. Shim stock would of course be the best choice but a sliver from a coke can works too.

You would want the shim to be under the rear of the mount to raise the POI. Not sure how that would work on a Picatinny rail....

He said he is maxed out on elevation and still hitting low. Putting the shim under the front of the riser would point the red dot upward so he would then be able to dial the elevation down to put the dot where the bullet hits.

TX Nimrod is correct. If you raise the dot only the barrel is still aiming low. You need to lower the angle of the dot so that when you raise your aim point the barrel raises also.

To me I wonder if there is something off w/ the optic or gun. I've done some odd stuff and haven't run into this problem.
