Who still carries a Colt OP?

I still carry my 1964 Colt Official Police round butt .38 Special.

Anyone else tote old iron?

Not Colt, but I've got a post war Transitional model Military & Police 4in, built in 1948.
One of the last long action k frames built.
Gotta love old classics.

I have a S&W Model 37 revolver in the night stand next to the bed. It is filled with Western wadcutters.

I have a 6" Official Police in .38 Special I bought some years ago as a fun gun.

It joined my .32-20 Police Positive Special and my .32 Long Police Positive.

Interesting

I've read the Police Positive Special was only made in .38 special. How rare is a .32-20 PP special?

Colt made the Police Positive Special in 32-20 up to WW2.
I'm not sure how rare they are, they're still around, look at GB.
The OP was made in 32-20 too, until WW2.

Last time I saw a guy packing a Colt Official Police was an elderly gent working Loomis Armored trucking, and he had to be at LEAST as old as the revolver. It was a six incher in an equally ancient police style holster.

Official Police was also chambered in .32-20 until WW2.
I have a 6-inch manufactured in 1940.

Both my Smith M&P in .32-20 and my Colt PPS in .32-20 were made in the early 1930s.

I've been on the hunt for an OP at a decent price for a while now. They're out there often enough, just every time I found one I didn't have money I wanted to part with at the time. I also have a transitional post war Smith k frame made circa 1949. It's a great little revolver. Want an OP so it will have a friend. I am in Law Enforcement, I would carry a .38 revolver if my agency would let me. Alas, with modern threats a Glock 45 is admittedly a better option for police work. Off duty carry, just for SD, I often do carry that k frame. I will carry an OP one day too.
