Moly coating? Whats that....
Ive read about moly coating where you polish the bullets, tumble it and coat it with this moly stuff. Whats the deal? What does it do, how does it help, wont it foul a barrel more?
Thanks! Dave

Molybdenum disulfide is a salt of the metal molybdenum. It is used as a dry lubricant in many applications. In firearms, bullets and bores are coated with moly to reduce pressure and alleviate copper fouling in match firearms. It was used a lot about 10 years ago, but is less popular now due to issues with removing the accumulated moly and the fact that, like all salts, moly attracts moisture and this can rust gun barrels.
