Remington 1100 16 ga
I understand that the NEW Remington 16 Ga 1100's weigh about 8 pounds(77/8). That is too much weight for me to carry afield. Can't understand the Rem Co. not trying to make a faster handling 63/4 # gun, but Oh Well. What I am wondering however is How much do the OLDER vintage model 1100 16 ga's weigh? Say a ribbed 28" mod choke version???? Any help out there in 16 Ga land?

Not sure about the 1100's but the 16 ga. 870's are built on the full size (12 ga.) frames and weigh about the same as a 12. No reason that I can think of to buy one. We have a 16 Ga. WM here at casa del 9mm and it is very nice but I'd not want to tote it about in the field.
The 20 ga. 1100 Special Field is much nicer for that; like carrying an old straight-stocked 336.....nice.
