Alright need some advice.
Here are some pics of my 270 chamber.
It's from over pressure, and I was new to reloading so wasn't to aware of pressure signs back then. Always seen the ejector marks but had some one reel me that is was fine as long as it wasn't hard to release bolt and it wasn't until this occurred. Don't judge the cleaning it has been put up for awhile and I didn't clean it after this happened and just pull it out a shoot a film over it now and then and put it back in the safe. I really loved this gun and just curious if it is salvageable or needs to become a safe beaut. It was a cheapy but it would drive tacs with the load I had made for it. If its what it looks like, it blew the bottom out of the receiver? That would all have to be measured to see how far out of line the frame is, and possibly x-rayed to see how bad it is damaged. After all the expense, you would be better off trying to find another receiver, and use your barrel, and other parts. After the examination, it would still have to be fixed by welding, and re-heat treated, etc, so you're talking about a lot of money for a fix, and a lot of time involved.

Lol that's what I figured, that I had fractured something in there and why i put it up and quit using it. Thanks, she will be put away for life. Even for the price of a new receiver I could probably buy another one of this style so I will just upgrade to another r700.
Thanks for the input. |
