Athlon optics
Anybody use these? How are they? Which one? What are you comparing it to?
I ask because I’m looking to scope an AR and a hunting rifle this year....just wondering if the savings are real or if they are a waste of time like so many others.... IMO, the only real deal recently has been Vortex.. |

Athlon makes some very competitive Scopes for the money. For your AR build the Midas TAC would be an option depending on range/use. Definitely worth a peek.

I run the Cronus 4.5-29x56 on my RPR 6.5 I am very happy with the overall stoutness of the scope and glass is excellent. I have not sprung for a super high end scope yet, but this brand seems like a great value.

Athlon Talos 4-16 x40 here.
Purchased about 8+ weeks ago. Rubber o-ring for rear lens started falling out 2+ weeks ago. Now it's 75% out. It's mounted on a springer air rifle (supposedly rated for springers). I need to send it back to see how good their warranty is. |

I have an athlon argos 6x24. Its a FFP which is part of the reason i purchased it. The glass is pretty good, maybe a step down from my burris veracity. The tracking is very good. I set up a target at 100 yds and made 1.5 mil changes up, down, left, right. Shots were right on the mark. It tracked very well. I believe insaw them on sale at midway. Pretty hard to beat for the money. I’d buy again.

A range buddy has a couple, and I've looked thru them and shot a few groups helping him with load development. Glass is good and clear at 100 & 200, don't know the models he has.

Just put a argos btr 6-24x50 on my varmint gun. Scope is heavy compared to Nikons and burris. Haven't shot the gun yet.

I have the same Argos BTR on my 308 and it has been a very pleasant surprise for the money spent. I feel it is not usable above 20x due to eye-box being very tight, otherwise tracking and function is rock solid. Well worth its price of admission and can serve as both hunting and range scope in a pinch. Argos line though is best if you get the BTR..the standard Argos is a much different beast
