Took a loss on the Model 69 Taurus, er, S&W...
Like sands through the hourglass....
I finally couldn't stand it anymore. The final straw of my nagging discontent was a range trip three days ago... Shooting my 29-10 right next to my new Model 69. What a difference. I just wanted that Sum-muh-bich out of my safe. Got me an unholy-polished-shiny stainless steel 75B. I couldn't be happier! |

Good pistol the CZ75. Easy to shoot. What was it about the 69 that caused it to be orphaned?

I didn't get the thread title?
Were you just making fun of Taurus, or Smith? |

Sounds like a prejudicial comment against revolvers.
Our lawyers will be in touch.

Yeah, explain more.
Something wrong with the S&W model 69? Need to know because I'm interested in buying one. So if there's something not right with it, let us know. |

These are my opinions
The model 69 is a great gun for some people, but not for me. I have several Smith and Wesson revolvers that I love... The aforementioned model 29-10 being one of them. The buttery-smooth hammer pull and trigger pull are what I want. The model 69 didn't have "it."
The best way I can describe it is, it just felt like a Taurus TO ME. Super tight and harsh like a sports suspension ride. I have owned a titanium Tracker in .357 and currently own a Model 95 .22lr.... Got nothing against Taurus, they just feel different. So yeah, I was dissin' the M69. I don't like the way it makes me feel. Now it is gone and I hope it makes someone very happy. CZ's make me very happy. They really do. |

First range visit
15 rounds in 10 seconds. Standing two-hand hold. 7 yards. Put 200 rounds through this morning without a hitch.

OK that sounds reasonable.
In my case it would be a HD gun as well as sometimes carry having a 44Mag in a smaller frame. Buttery smooth or being stiff won't matter much in my case seeing as it is not likely to be fired very much. So thanks for the update- not really faulty or defective, just that the action is so-so and nothing really great or anything to praise. By the way, I also happen to have a CZ 9mm myself and it is a pleasure to shoot. My interest in the model 69 is strictly defensive, functional, utility, power and not any sort of pleasure or competition shooting. |
