Using my Sporting Clays gun to shoot Trap. Since it is a flat shooting gun...could I raise the POI by building up the comb of my stock...with either some tape or some of those pads that are advertised in the shooting magazines? Would that in fact RAISE the POI? Thanks.....

The short answer is yes. The various pads or an adjustable comb will raise the POI.
But have you patterned this gun? I shoot skeet, trap and sporting found that a 60/40 pattern works well for everything. I think a high shooting gun is good if you are shooting primarily ATA trap but can be a hindrance if you are switching guns a lot. |

Depending on the design of the gun, minor adjustments may be made by using a small shim at the juncture of stock and receiver. I use folded aluminum foil. Loosen the stock bolt and place a few layers inside, tighten up and pattern at least 3 rounds. If correct, leave it along, otherwise continue to adjust incrementally. To raise the pattern, place the foil at the bottom. I use 870s,BTW.
Otherwise, a pad on the comb may help, but oft they drift the pattern a bit left or right. If it's close enough, fine. On a GP wing shotgun, I like the pattern a little high, but not all above POA. Maybe 60-40,like PJR said. |

Try moving your lead hand in closer to the receiver, this will raise the POI without mods to the gun. Thanks, OL
