AR-15 Flat top, what accessories do you recommend

I traded off one of my pistols for a new DPMS AR-15 flat top with a tactical butt stock and full tactical forearm on it too. It doesn't have the front sight on it.

I'm trying to figure out what accessories to put on it that will make it more functional for me. My planned use is target and 100-200 yds small game hunting.

I'm thinking right now of getting an A2 carry handle and an A2 front sight for ocassional use when I want to shoot iron sights. I'm thinking about a low power scope or possibly a red dot scope, I can't decide which.

Please give me some suggestions with a basic justification of it's use.
I don't have a ton of money to spend unless I sell off one of my revolvers or pistols.

For all around, it's hard to beat a 1-4x scope for the AR platform.

You can spend as much or as little as you want to.

I use a Leupold CQ/T.

My brother uses a Millet DMS-1 with a Model 1 mount.

Both have lighted recticles, in fact I like the DMS recticle better than the one on my Leupold.

Thats something you have to decide for yourself. Customizing your gun is just that making it custom to your needs. What I have on mine is the sling it came with, a Tapco forearm with a Knight's Armament Co. vertical grip, and sometimes (depending what I'm doing) a tactical light, and standard A2 sights with a detachable carry handle.

BUIS.

Start with the BUIS. I've probably bought and sold enough "tactical" crap errr.. accessories to outfit 10 AR's. The most important IMHO are the optics, light, sling setup, and a more comfortable grip. That's just me though. The fun part is finding the combo that you like and knowing you can always switch it up if you feel the need.

A2 sight set sounds like a good idea

I really like the A2 sights on a detachable handle. I'm already looking into getting the A2 sight set early next month.
My AR shipped from the factory today, so my FFL should have it on Monday or Tuesday. I can't wait to get it.
I'm ordering ammo tonight and it will take a few days to get it delivered to me.
I've got a friend that is sending me a Red Dot scope tomorrow too.
With a little patience, I'll have something together for pictures to post late next week.
Another week and I should be putting some ammo downrange too.

Well,
things changed rather rapidly yesterday. My wife reminded me why I don't use electronic scopes/laser and stuff on my guns. Every once in a while i get stupid and forget that I'm color blind. I can't see the stupid red or green dots. Not at all. So I've switched to a 4x20 AR scope instead of the Red Dot.
I also been readind where some of the Red Dots don't hold up well with the 5.56 recoil. I get to start all over again and do lots more research. This is going to be very fun building this AR up.

Keep up the posts and comments. Mine should be in my hands shortly.
