ww2 japanese 4x7 scope
I have just bought a 4x7 ww2 Japanese scope with case and was wondering about value. the case has no strap or brush but otherwise is in very good condition and so is the scope. it has some scratches but the optics are very good. the eyepiece is not dryrotted or cracked but is mis-shapen due to being in the case for so long. the numbers are 10144 on the top of the scope and 2255 where the scope is attached to the rifle.

I don't know for sure. the japanese scopes are quite rare. I think the last I checked the rifles with mated scopes were selling for more than $10,000. given that I'd say it's probably worth about $1,500 but without more knowledge I really wouldn't want to put a dollar amount on it.
