"We stand today on the edge of a New Frontier—the frontier of the 1960s, the frontier of unknown opportunities and perils, the frontier of unfilled hopes and unfilled threats. ... Beyond that frontier are uncharted areas of science and space, unsolved problems of peace and war, unconquered problems of ignorance and prejudice, unanswered questions of poverty and surplus." This is the data on New Frontier serial numbers listed in Kuhnhausen's The Colt Single Action Revolvers A Shop Manual Volumes 1&2. It states that all 2nd Gen New Frontiers have 4 digits plus the NF suffix. All 3rd Gen New Frontiers have 5 digits plus the NF suffix. Sorry, this table in my edition only goes up to 1983. Mfg. Grips for the SAA are available for sale on EBay. As well as many gun auction sites.

Looks like they did not make any in those years. '72 and '73 too. Maybe there was not enough demand. |
