What about buying two smaller safes and setting them next to each other?

I have looked at some inexpensive safes and was concerned about how secure they were.
I just put money away until I could get a real safe. I did not want an electronic lock. My safe was not cheap but it is pretty secure. It is American made and is a 44 gun safe. . .and I am running out of room. . .again. . .

I'd considered second-hand, but after investigating, at least in this area, no one sells them, they just add to them

If you have one of those BJ's warehouse places near you they have a stack-on 24 gun fire resistant safe with electronic lock for $499.99.
http://www.bjs.com/stack-on-24-gun-f...2011#thumbnail It seems to meet all your criteria. |

I have a couple of the 14-gun Sentry safes that are sold at several retailers in the area - now I dont expect Fort Knox security levels from a safe in that price range, but if they are properly bolted down and placed by an exterior wall I believe it will protect me against most casual thieves and they are certainly safe from children. I don't have anything real expensive or irreplaceable in there anyway. I also added a "golden rod" dehumidifier and have never had any type of rust or corrosion issue inside the safe.
