Terni refers to Terni, Italy which is where the arsenal was located where they were made. I'm not sure about the other marks. I have a Carcano chambered in 7.35mm. It has numerous markings on it which after research I determined that it was sold to Finland and was used by Finland against the Russians. The Fins then sold the rifles to dealers in the U.S. where they were sold to the public. Mine shoots very well but ammunition is hard to find. I started reloading but now components are hard to find as well. If yours is a 6.5mm you will have much better luck finding ammo and reloading. I can't remember the websites, but there is some good information on the internet in regards to the Carcano. Ignore the ones that say the Carcano is junk, because they are actually decent guns. Not worth much, but they tend to function just fine.

FP is the steel vendor code for Ferriere Monterosi (might be misspelled) and the QN3763 is the serial number.

16 is the year of the Fascist Party's rule, IIRC that translates to 1943.

Anything else you can add? Barrel Length, what kind of rear sight? Pictures would be great.

Armory Gun Co.

I have my grandfathers Armory Gun Co. single barrel , breach loader, it is now minus the stock that was original. i empowered a gunsmith to make a new stock, as the old one was being held together with electrical tape. My father would like it the stock replaced...the shop that was making it went out of business, and now im out of a stock. i also have tried different avenues of getting the old one back. but have been told wont happen..... so.... can anyone make one, i have the rest of the gun. and so far he is out, 250.00 for no stock.

thank you

Bottom line is, the guy is a thief.

File a Small Claims action, get the judgement, and have the Sheriff collect it.

You should get the unfinished stock and the $250, as well as any other costs.
