5 beards

just got my first turkey this year.
i was running late hit the woods at 6:05 and was heading back home at 6:30. as i was walking to my spot i could hear a tom gobbling right by it so i jogged closer threw my decoy up had pruning shears cut a shooting lane right in front of me and started calling.
had a custom mouth call and a hs strut ring zone glass striker, he seemed to prefer the ring zone and just went nuts every time i would use them together. as he was getting closer some hens and another tom started talking back to me and he really started getting worked up. he hung up around 50 yards for a few minutes but he just couldn't take it any longer and at 35 yards i clucked he came out of strut and it was all over!

5 beards longest 10 inches shortest 2 5/8. one spur was broken and other was 13/16. weighed exactly 18 lbs. 3 or 4 years ago i killed one in the same spot with two beards. must be something in the water

mount

Take those loose beards and a strip of leather. Punch 5 holes in the leather and attach the beards using super glue and fitting them to said holes in the manner that they appeared on the bird.

Take the leather strip and brass tack it vertically to a stained pine board a foot or so square. You can burn the date, and other limited info into the board before staining. Add the spurs (I hang mine from a brass cup hook) and a photo if you'd like and it'll make a fair, affordable mount.
