Magazine options for a Vanguard sa?
I have a Weatherby Vanguard short action 6.5cm. I want to change out the drop plate for a magazine. Found the Legacy sports option. But, to my knowledge its plastic and doesnt compliment the rifle very well. What other options are out there for a more robust drop box mag?

The Legacy kit is made by ATI. Note the manufacturer's numbers on the assorted sites selling 'em. Midway, for example.
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1004659547 Either way it looks like those are your choices, ATI or as sold by Legacy. None are steel. They're polymer, not plastic. Except Pacific Tool and Gauge makes an Al trigger guard assembly. Currently on sale for $119. VS the $160 at Midway. http://pacifictoolandgauge.com/howa-...tom-metal.html

That's all I was able to find as well. They both have that front latch that looks like it can be hit easily in the stand. I imagine the magazine and trigger guard shield the lever somewhat.
I should have checked the description more carefully before ordering my vanguard. Love the rifle. But, others had the drop mag. I probably would have just as happy with any of them.
