Best metal finishes: Commercial and DIY?
I purposely bought a stainless steel gun for better corrosion resistance under wet hunting conditions. But, all of the detachable magazines made for this gun are blued carbon steel. What are the best after-market metal finishes that can be applied to these parts, to improve the all-weather capabilities?
If a commercial finish; what is it & where I can send them to get it done? If a Do-It-Yourself treatment; what is it & where can I order some? Thanx, Dave.

I also have a number of guns with blued mags which corrode a lot here in the tropics. I have had about twenty mags either hard-chromed or electroless nickel plated at a place called Techplate in CA (www.techplate.com). Service is fast and prices are affordable. They have a customer rep there named Marshall who is very helpful with questions. None of my plated mags corrode anymore after the plating. The cost was about $10/mag. Good luck.
