I want to know what every one else thinks about the two. Which one would you get if you could.

I've always been partial to chopped carbines and in my mind, the HK51 is the best bar none!! I'd put my left kidney in hock to get one of these bad boys!! You wouldn't happen to know of where I could find one would you?

I only know where one HK-51 is and I think I’m going to get it soon. They don’t come around to often. We went and shot it last week and it was a blast I took some pics of it shooting at night. (What a site to see.)
It was a little hard to hold on to at first.
But that’s 308 for ya. I think I’m going to trade my HK-91 in for it. He is making me a deal I can’t refuse.

I will stick with the 91. After the novelty wears off, the increased noise and muzzle blast become annoying. If you have both, so much the better. In the long run I think the 91 will hold its value, but the 51 is just a butchered 91.

Ask yourself this, If the 51 is such a hot ticket, why is this guy going to trade you for your 91?

Neither-The best one I have found is the G3K. It has the feeling of a shorty, but still maintains some decent ballistics. They are also very reliable for a shorty. The 51 is not a real Hk, and it is going to be totally dependent on who put it together.

Did HK make a G3K? I thought all the short .308 stuff was aftermarket. Could be wrong, just asking...

Yea, the G3k is a factory gun. It has about a 12.5 inch barrel and it uses the same size forend as the HK33/93 series. They are very well balanced and great shooters, plus you can still use the factory light bipod. It is probably my favorite HK rifle. They are also popular with the SAS in N. Ireland. It is an excellent urban warfare weapon.

I'm thinking of a registered autosear for my 91. Whats the going price this year?
I actually saw a 51B fired once. I think it was converted by someone with more money than brains
