Enfield No 4 Mk 2 magazine?
I have an Enfield .303 No 4 Mk 2. I would like to get an extra magazine. What other Enfield model magazine's will fit in this rifle? Will No 4 Mk 1 mags fit? What about the reproduction pro mag Enfield magazines? Thanks for your help.

The ProMag magazines are not that great. They drag on the bolt and in general are a pain to get to work. AFAIK, any Lee-Enfield magazine will work in any Lee-Enfield rifle.

I had a #1 MK3 and and #4 MK1 and I want to say the 4 fit both magazines but the #1 only fit one.
Here's a past post that talks about magazine fit. https://thefiringline.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=483208 |

A No. 4 Mk. 2 is a No. 4 Mk I* but the trigger connects to the receiver vs the trigger guard. Mags are the same. Like Scorch says, Promag mags are hit or miss. Usually miss.
Bob's Gun Parts says he has 10 round "Enfield" mags at $35 each, but doesn't say which one. Call him and ask. If he says it doesn't matter he's wrong. http://www.gun-parts.com/magazines/ The important part of emcon5's big picture is the number of locking lugs. One on a No. 4 mag. Two on a No. 1 mag. Grinding off the lower lug on a No. 1 mag can make it fit a No. 4, but it doesn't work well.

All I know is one good mag for the enfield is worth a dozen mediocre magazines.
I guess you could say that with any rifle. |
