First Pass At IronWood Stock Set On AR10
This is just a mock up. Seems Ballistic Advantage took artistic license with what they call "rifle length" gas system. The gas port is .28 inches too close to the breach end. The front sight base/gas block is out past the gas port so I could get the hand guards on to see how it would look. Their barrel is on it's way back and new one ordered from X-Caliber is on the way. Every .308 AR barrel maker I talked to said 13.23" to 13.241" is the distance from breach face to center of gas port. Ballistic Advantage goes with 12.95" for some reason.

Looks dead sexy. What does it weigh with all that wood?

Didn't seem that much more heavier if any at all. That is not iron wood but fancy walnuy and was manufactured by IronWood Designs. http://ironwooddesigns.com/
Scroll all the way to the bottom for there AR pic. |

You should throw on a FAL carrying handle! Great work.

I always like getting wood! Even on an AR...
Next comes 20 hours of hand sanding since they are all curves... |
