All of the Carcanos are lighter than their contemporary competition, but the cavalry carbines are exceptionally light and handy.
Fun shooters. Light, bolt action, .30-30 class cartridge, en bloc clips, and a stabby part for when things go sideways. My preference is for 7.35x51mm. But I understand why most people prefer the 6.5x52mm, even though it still has it's own odd bullet diameter.

You should probably find a reliable source of ammo that isn't going to make you sell an organ first.
Midway lists Norma 156 grain SP 6.5 Carcano at $47.99 per 50(one box left). Graf's shows Norma and 2 bullet weights(123 SP and 139 FMJ)of Prvi as being out of stock. The Prvi is less than half the price of Norma. Norma has always been over priced though. After that it'll depend on your budget. palmettostatearmory.com is listing M91 TS Carbine Rifles at $249.99. You can have a 7.35mm(that ammo isn't easy to find. Graf's says Prvi at $34.99 per 20 also out of stock) Carbine for $200 from royaltigerimports.com. They have some other Carcano models too. Be worth a look.

The RTI Carcanos are exceptionally worn and not in the condition advertised. Ordering from RTI is playing the lottery. You might get an 'okay' one. Or, you might get a box of garbage and petrified bugs, in roughly the shape of a rifle.
