Refinish a Glock slide?

Hi all. I rubbed the finish off the slide of my 17 while it was holstered (holster since replaced) as a sidearm from walking all day while hunting. I am thinking of trading it for a 34 for IDPA purposes. Is there an inexpensive way I can touch it up that would look decent? It is just a rub and not a scratch or anything. Thank you.

I don't know for sure but I really doubt if any type of "touch up" blue will work on Glock's Tennifer treated slides. The Tennifer is fairly deep into the steel. You could try it and see. The best cure would be to send the slide to a refinisher for a black oxide finish (which is what Glock used)

Any idea what that would cost? I am only interested in selling so the price would have to equal the benefit of selling with a mint finish. The minor rub is the only blemish on the gun. Might make a $50 difference to some. I don't know. If I were keeping it, I wouldn't care. Heck, if it costs too much I might just give it to my girl friend!

Give it to your girlfriend. It will cost a lot more than $50.
