Need help organizing the awards won for shooting.

Hi,

My old trophies and medals are stocked up on the shelf. I had participated and won in several shooting events. Now, it has become just a hobby. I wish to organize it elegantly. My son is good at athletics and so, I have to make space for hanging his medals.

I was able to get some cool ideas for trophy display. http://www.houlthellewell.com/blog/a...phies-at-home/ I am but confused. I have space in my sitting room. That is not going to be a constraint.

Please share your ideas and help me.

I would put a handful that you are most proud of up on the wall, and toss the rest in a box.

Take the plates off the trophies and mount them on a separate board so you can see your past success. Donate the trophies to the junior team. They will be thankful. All they will have to do is have a new plate made.

If they're made of genuine silver, melt them down to make silver bullets.
You never know when you will need silver bullets.

"...I have space..." How much space is the key. Trophy display cases like the ones in high schools can be had without too much fuss. Cheap, they ain't though. They start at around $1600, new.
Go look in a used office furniture shop. Government surplus place if there is such a thing near you.
Plaques, ribbons and such just get a push thumb tack, a wee nail or a regular picture hanger thingy.
I'd be telling the kid to find his own wall/cabinet. snicker.

I did what Az said, I pried off the event plates and donated the trophies back to the clubs. The ones I still had, pewter from trapshooting mostly, were lost in the fire.
