How many use handguns to hunt with? What kind and why.
I have used a 7TCU .411 JDJ(444 Marlin necked down to .41..220 gr. 2350 fps) and 45/70.
Thanks to all.

Ruger 7.5" Super Redhawk with Leupold 2x scope.

Why? It's fun! Plenty of power for local whitetails and I have confidence in it. Also leaves both hands free when walking and I have it in my bandolier holster.

I Love Handgun Hunting.....

Will use just about anything that I can get my hands on, 357 Magnum, 10 MM, 41 Magnum, etc. Even use a 45 acp from time to time. Very challenging way to hunt. Lots of scouting and practice required.

Started with a .357 Ruger Blackhawk with a 5 1/2 in barrel and open sights. Works good out to 70 -75 yds. But I've moved up to a Super Blackhawk in .44 Mag with a 10 in barrel, also with open sights. Works better.

Next I'll try it with a .45 ACP Super. Ho ho.

Remember the importance of shot placement.
